Offshore Structures under Fire Loads

-Basics of Accidental Limit State (ALS) design under fire loads

-Basics of fire physics and numerical models for calculation of different forms of fire loads acting on structures.

-Presentation of design standards approach and state-of-the-art-knowledge regarding behavior of engineering materials, steel and aluminium, in high temperatures and structures under fire.

-Definition of design fire loads based both on prescriptive methods and using probabilistic framework.

-Fundamentals of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for modelling and analysis of fire loads in open and congested areas including introduction of commercial codes KFX and FLACS Fire.

-Methods of structural design and analysis for fire loads using international standards and application of non -linear finite element software Ls -DYNA and USFOS.

-Safety design and protection of structures subjected to fire by optimized application of passive fire protection.

-Practical examples of fire design for offshore topside structures.

 

Offshore Structures under Explosion Loads

-Basics of Accidental Limit State (ALS) design under blast loads

-Basics of blast phenomenon and associated loads from gas explosions in open and congested spaces.

-Engineering material behavior at high loading rates.

-Definition of design blast loads from scenario based method and using probabilistic framework.

-Fundamentals of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for modelling and analysis of blast loads in open and congested areas including introduction of and commercial codes FLACS.

-Methods of structural design and analysis for blast loads including application of non -linear finite element software Ls -DYNA and USFOS.

-Practical examples of blast design for offshore topside structures.
